Auto-Assign Categories gives you more control over how categories are assigned to your content when publishing to WordPress.

Important: This feature only works with Agility Writer WordPress plugin.

The new Auto-Assign Categories feature allows you to:

  • Set Maximum Categories: Control how many categories are automatically assigned to each post (1-8 categories). Default to 2.
  • Create Category Blacklists: Specify categories that should never be automatically assigned to your content
  • Define Fallback Categories: Set default categories to use when no relevant categories are found

How It Works

When publishing content to WordPress, our system will analyze your content and automatically assign the most relevant categories. The new Auto-Assign Categories settings give you fine-grained control over this process:

  3. Fallback Categories: Ensures your posts always have at least one category, even when no matches are found

How to Access

  1. Navigate to Settings > Integrations
  2. Find your connected WordPress site and click "Edit Auto-Assign Category"
  3. Configure your maximum category limit, blacklist, and fallback settings
  4. Click "Update" to save your changes
